Juliana Redding Murder Trial, Kelly Soo Park (Female James Bond) Acquitted of All Charges

The Korean American woman referred to by the Southern California media as a “female James Bond” was found not guilty of the 2008 murder of an aspiring model, a jury decided on Tuesday.

Kelly Soo Park, 47, was acquitted of both first- and second-degree murder charges in connection with the death of 21-year-old Juliana Redding.

Park gasped and cried as the verdict was read, according to NBC Los Angeles.

She had been accused of the strangulation murder of Redding, the daughter of a doctor who reneged on a deal with Park’s alleged boss, Munir Uwaydah. Court documents stated that Uwaydah, who has not been seen and reportedly fled to Lebanon, would brag about Park as his enforcer and called her a female version of James Bond.

The jury deliberated for more than a week before rendering the not guilty verdict.

Park, the sister of well-known conductor and musical director Kolleen Park, was arrested in 2010, two years after the death of Redding. Park’s father is Korean and her mother emigrated from Lithuania at a young age.
