Sexually Assaulting of a Girl, a "Disney" Worker is Charged Police Ask for Help

A Corona man who maintained rides at Disneyland has been charged with sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, and authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify additional victims.

Bryan William Anast, 45, was arraigned Monday in Orange County Superior Court and is being held on $1-million bail. He is charged with five felony counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and possession of child pornography.

If convicted, he faces 63 years to life in prison.

In May, the girl told Orange County sheriff’s officials that Anast had assaulted her on four occasions between 1997 and 2000. One assault allegedly occurred at Yosemite National Park.

Investigators who searched Anast’s home found videos of child pornography on a computer storage device.

Anast was arrested last week at Disneyland, where he worked as a machinist.

The Orange County district attorney’s office is asking anyone with information about other potential victims to contact investigator Paul Carvo at (714) 347-8794.

Cast Member at "Disneyland" was Arrested in Explosion with a Dry Ice Bomb

A Disneyland employee accused of exploding a so-called dry ice bomb in a Toontown trash could have gotten the dry ice from within the park, according to a company official.

As an outdoor vending “cast member,” as Disney employees are called, Christian Barnes would have had access to dry ice that vendors use to keep park refreshments like ice cream and sodas cold.

Barnes, 22, was arrested by Anaheim police and booked on suspicion of possession of a destructive device. He was being held Wednesday in lieu of bail of $1 million.

The explosion in a trash can Tuesday evening forced the evacuation of Toontown. No one was injured, but the explosion caused some brief chaos in a portion of Disneyland popular with young children. The mixture exploded about 5:30 p.m.

"Barnes is cooperating with investigators and has indicated this is an isolated incident with unanticipated impacts," Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn said.

Police said Barnes peddled sodas and water on a mobile cart in the park. They did not give a motive for the incident, which did not cause any significant damage.

"You wouldn't expect situations like that coming to a place like this. That is crazy, that's wild," said West Covina resident Jonathan Rosario, who was at the park with a toddler. "It reminds us we all need to do our part to be safe."

Disneyland spokeswoman Suzi Brown said in a statement, "We take matters like this very seriously and are working closely with local authorities.”

Alisa Yenokyan Convicted of Selling Fake Disneyland Tickets Again

A 22-year-old Hollywood woman convicted earlier this month of selling bogus Disneyland tickets was arrested again this weekend after she allegedly punched a loss prevention worker who caught her stealing beauty cream from the Sephora at the Americana at Brand.

The lost prevention worker was watching security cameras about 5:25 p.m. Sunday when she spotted Alisa Yenokyan allegedly put five beauty cream products inside her purse, according to Glendale police.

Yenokyan exited the store, but was quickly confronted by the worker, who requested the merchandise be returned, police said.

The pair struggled over the purse, at which point Yenokyan allegedly punched the worker twice in the face.

She was arrested on suspicion of robbery a short time later, reportedly telling police that the worker had scratched her, so she fought back.

Yenokyan also reportedly told police that if she had been asked for the products in a “nice way,” she would have returned them.

Yenokyan was later released Monday on $20,000 bail and is expected to appear July 2 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The latest incident came even as she was awaiting sentencing for selling bogus $50 Disneyland e-tickets to at least a half dozen families through Craigslist.

Yenokyan had allegedly had been selling the altered passes to families — many of whom didn’t discover the fakery until being turned away at the park’s gates — for several years.

Yenokyan was convicted May 7 of seven felony counts of forgery and one felony count of grand theft for the scheme.

She is scheduled to be sentenced June 21.
