The 33-year-old actress, who has appeared in movies such as "8 Mile," "Crazy/Beautiful" and "Hustle and Flow," was reportedly kicking and punching her 23-year-old makeup artist at 5 a.m. Thursday morning in her room at New York's swanky Dream Downton hotel. Manning was charged with assault; in the meantime, she has hired criminal defense attorney Joe Tacopina.
UPDATE: Holly Hartman, the makeup artist whom Manning is charged with assaulting, wants to drop all charges, Manning's lawyer Joe Tacopina told TMZ. According to the website, Manning and Hartman are close friends who are also roommates; a drunken fight after a night of partying reportedly led to the altercation.
