UN to Inspect North Korean Ship Caught Smuggling Undeclared Weapons in Panama Found Missiles under Bags of Brown Sugar

Newsflash from your Hollywood Attorney:

A team of UN inspectors will arrive in Panama next month to examine the North Korean ship caught smuggling arms from Cuba.

"The United States have confirmed that they will send a team and the foreign minister has informed me that it is scheduled on August 5th a team of experts from the United Nations will come to verify these arms."

Five investigators will be drawn from the UN sanctions committee responsible for North Korea and will begin inspecting the Chong Chon Gang and its cargo once the vessel has been unloaded.
Panama stopped the ship last week and seized the cargo, where it found old radar, missile and aircraft components buried underneath more than 200-thousand bags of Cuban brown sugar.
Under UN sanctions, Pyongyang is banned from buying or selling weapons.

While North Korea is demanding the immediate release of the vessel and its crew, Panama has pressed criminal charges against all 35 North Korean sailors on board for endangering public security by attempting to smuggle undeclared weapons.

A statement by the Panamanian prosecutor's office said all the accused had exercised their right to remain silent.

The seizure of the vessel has cast fresh light on the North's secretive maritime trading practices and once the ship is fully inspected, the UN sanctions committee on North Korea will discuss whether Pyongyang has violated UN resolutions.
