Teen Arrested For Facebook Comment, Justin Carter Now Placed on Suicide Watch

Justin Carter, 19, was taken into custody in February after an argument he had on the social network regarding the online video game League of Legends.

Someone had said something to the effect of, "Oh you're insane, you're crazy, you're messed up in the head," his father Jack recalled to an ABC.

"To which Justin replied "Oh yeah, I'm real messed up in the head, I'm going to go shoot up a school full of kids and eat their still, beating hearts."

The next two lines were "lol" and "jk" - but not everyone found it funny.

Despite Justin Carter claiming that he was "laughing out loud" and "just kidding" regarding that threat, a woman saw the comment and was alarmed.

She alerted police after realizing Carter lived near an elementary school, and on February 13, a judge authorized a search warrant for his residence.

A warrant for Carter's arrest came one week later.

Given recent school-related violence, the threat was taken seriously, meaning Carter has been charged with making a "terroristic threat," a felony.

His bail: $500,000, according to NPR, an amount his family can't pay, thus keeping him behind bars as he awaits trial. He could face up to eight YEARS in prison.

Justin was placed on suicide watch last week, his dad says.

"Without getting into the really nasty details, he's had concussions, black eyes, moved four times from base for his own protection," Jack Carter elaborated.

"He's been put in solitary confinement, nude, for days on end because he's depressed. This is extremely traumatic to this kid. This is a horrible experience."
