Arrested 46 Times for the Hollywood Stabbing Suspect

County supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky said today that Dustin James Kinnear—who's been charged with murder in the June 18 stabbing death of Christine Caldron—was recently paroled from prison, according to City News Service.

The Sacramento Bee reports that Kinnear's early release was through AB109, a state cost-savings program. [Note: The Associated Press informed us their original article was not accurate: AB109 was designed to reduce prison overcrowding, not save money.]

Yaroslavsky is trying to put together a timeline in the county's handling of what turned out to be a high-risk individual, and whether Kinnear ever received a mental health evaluation. Kinnear's mother has told the media that her son had mental problems and that this kind of tragedy was "a matter of time."

"This timeline may contribute to our understanding of this specific situation and inform interventions to ensure that probationers are engaged in appropriate rehabilitative services, high risk incidences are deterred, and public safety is preserved," Yaroslavsky said. In other words, he wants to make sure that no one drops the ball like this again any time soon.

When the three men appeared in court for arraignment, both Kinnear and Jason Joel Wolstone, 33, one of the other transients charged with a lesser offense in the crime, were wearing yellow prison clothes, which typically designate psychological issues of some kind, CNS reports.

According to Sheriff's Department records, Kinnear was in and out of county jails five times during April and May, for stretches ranging from two to nine days.

Jail Time for Designers "Dolce and Gabbana" - Tax Evasion

Italian fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have been sentenced to jail in Italy for one year and eight months for tax evasion.

They were accused of hiding millions of euros from Italian tax authorities.

The pair, whose customers have included Madonna, Kate Moss and Kylie Minogue, were not at the trial, deny the charges and have appealed.

Dolce and Gabbana have not commented on their sentences, which have been suspended pending their appeal.

The investigation by the Italian authorities began around six years ago as part of a government plan to crack down on tax avoidance.

At the hearing on Wednesday, the judge ruled that the designers moved their brand to a Luxembourg-based holding company Gado - an anagram of their two surnames - in 2004.

He said they had done this to avoid declaring taxes on royalties of around 1 billion euros (£833m; $1.3bn).

Prosecutors alleged they sold the business for well below actual market value.

They were initially cleared of the charges at a previous trial in April 2011 but Italy's highest court overturned that ruling, ordering that the case should be sent back.

Back in Jail Again for Edward Furlong of Terminator2

He only just left jail following an early release from a six month sentence, but Edward Furlong was once again back behind bars on Friday.

The Terminator star was arrested after allegedly having an altercation his former girlfriend and violating the terms of an apprehended violence order and his probation.

TMZ reports deputies from the West Hollywood Sheriffs Department were called to the actor's former partner's home in West Hollywood, California, on Thursday night.

The pair reportedly had a verbal altercation after the 35-year-old allegedly violated the woman's apprehended violence order and showed up at her home.

Police found the actor hiding under his ex's stairwell.

He was arrested just before 7pm and charged with a Felony violation of the order.

The troubled actor remains in jail at the West Hollywood Sheriffs Department and is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Just two weeks ago on April 27, the actor plead pleaded not guilty to domestic battery that allegedly occurred last year at Los Angeles International Airport.

The actor, who rose to fame when he played young John Connor in the sci-fi sequel to the original Terminator, is accused of getting into a violent argument with girlfriend Monica Keena - believed to be the same women involved in his most recent arrest -  at the airport on October 30.

He was also arrested again in West Hollywood in January for alleged domestic battery as well as a warrant for felony domestic violence.

Edward was only recently released from jail after he was sentenced to six months in jail for violating his probation in a 2010 case.

The Terminator 2 star was accused of disobeying the terms of his sentence for his domestic violence case after he was convicted of violating a restraining order.

The 35-year-old actor has been the subject of restraining orders filed by both his ex-wife and an ex-girlfriend.

In March Superior Court Judge Dennis Mulcahy asked officials not to release the actor early or give him credit for time served.

However, despite late May being flagged as the earliest possible release he was allowed out of jail even earlier.

Edward has previously refused to go to drug rehabilitation even as a way to avoid jail.

L.A. Inmate Released from Jail by Mistake, If You See Him

Mata has brown hair and brown eyes. He stands 6 feet 1 and weighs 197 pounds. Anyone with information regarding Mata is asked to call sheriff's homicide detectives at (323) 890-5500.

Johnny Mata, charged with murder in a Baldwin Park gang shooting, was released from the Los Angeles County jail system last month because of a clerical error, sheriff's officials say.

The department waited nearly a month before alerting the public that Johnny Mata was on the loose.

Mata was set free April 4 from the Sheriff's Department's Inmate Reception Center in downtown Los Angeles, according to Capt. Chuck Antuna.

"A clerical error occurred and he was released," Antuna said.

The Los Angeles County district attorney's office had filed murder charges against Mata, but a processing clerk had not entered a "hold" for Mata in the computer. Antuna said he was not sure exactly when Mata entered the jail system.

At some point, a different murder charge had been dropped against Mata, he added, but it was not clear if that played any role in his release.

The department's Major Crimes Unit has been searching for him.

Nicole Nishida, a department spokeswoman, said it did not immediately reveal Mata's release because the unit was chasing leads to find him.

The department opted to go public when it exhausted those leads, she said. Sheriff's officials have now notified "all of Los Angeles County law enforcement' to help them locate Mata, she added.

Steve Whitmore, a sheriff's spokesman, said the error occurred due understaffing and the positions have since been filled and an additional supervisor added. “It no is excuse but sheriff has insured it won't happen again,” Whitmore said.

Nishida said Mata has been charged in the killing of David De Anda, who was shot Dec. 24, 2010, in the 13200 block of Francisquito Avenue in Baldwin Park.

According to a sheriff's news release, De Anda was standing with two other people in a driveway when a man approached and shot him several times in the upper torso.

He was taken to Los Angeles-USC Medical Center, where he died about two hours later, a detective told The Times.

Anyone with information regarding Mata is asked to call sheriff's homicide detectives at (323) 890-5500.
