Here’s a good rule of thumb: When using a celebrity’s image to hawk your products, make sure you have the celebrity’s permission. If you don’t, you might wind up like “B” Cosmetic Clinic, and face a $120 million lawsuit.
A celebrity super group, comprised of Kim Nam Gil, Jang Dong Gun, Song Hye Kyo, singer BoA and Girls’ Generation’s Jessica are just a few of the big names suing the company. The celebrities claim that people who access the site think that the celebrities are have endorsed the company or have undergone plastic surgery themselves.
No word yet on a court date or whether the charges will be dropped. We’re going to steer clear of the “B” Cosmetic Clinic in the meantime, just to be safe.
