More DUI CHECKPOINTS Planned for Friday

Newsflash from your Hollywood Attorney:

The California Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety checkpoint between 6 p.m. and 12 a.m. Friday, according to the CHP.

Vehicles will be checked and drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested. Motorists without a valid driver’s license can expect to be cited and have their vehicle impounded, according the CHP.

Between Aug. 16 and Monday, Napa County’s law enforcement agencies arrested more than 100 drivers on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the Napa Police Department. In 2012, 92 DUI arrests occurred during the same time period.

The agencies included Napa police, Napa County Sheriff’s Office and the CHP. Funding for this program is provided through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
