NBC sportscaster Al Michaels Arrested for DUI in Santa Monica
Al Michaels spent 5 hours in jail Friday night with blood level of .08.
"He was evaluated for suspicion of DUI, brought to the station for a Breathalyzer test, and it came out .08, which was at the legal limit, so he was released on a citation at about 3 or 4 in the morning," said Sgt. William Heric, according to the LAT. "He was cooperative and polite the whole time.''
The Emmy-winning Michaels, 68, jumped to NBC in 2007 after nearly 30 years with ABC Sports. His career highlights include a 20-season tenure as lead play-by-play announcer on Monday Night Football and well as his coverage of the 1980 Winter Olympics hockey game in which the U.S. defeated the Soviet Union.
